This was the last official event for the 2014-15 season and it was the best weather we have had in many years. It was a perfect autumn day with light winds...or so we thought.

8 pilots (and 1 helper) made the trip out to fly, including Jamie from Sydney (9 hrs each way) and Greg and Graham from Tasmania (1hr flights). Thanks for making the trip to join in the fun and I know we enjoyed having you as much as you enjoyed attending.

Unfortunately Tim (our CD and WC Team Manager) had injured his back, so could not fly, but made the trip anyway to help the team and be our CD for the day. Thanks Tim, the team really appreciated it.

Alex unfortunately had to work in the afternoon, so enjoyed some fun flying in the morning. It was good to catch up Alex and we will see you again next time.

This left 6 pilots to enjoy the conditions which turned out to be very tricky for most of the day. The lift was very light and sometimes you had to pick carefully when to work the holding air, or get aggressive and go looking for something better.

Greg finished 6th and showed great promise for his first 'big' competition and proved that all the practice he has been doing in Tasmania was on the right track. He now has lots of new things to practice! Great launch too Greg (for a lefty :-))!

Dave finished 5th and just missed some key air at the wrong times, but overall flew very well.

Jamie finished 4th, but is now a lot better for the hit out in the unfamiliar, tricky conditions.

Jon finished 3rd and unfortunately damaged his number 1 light air plane just before the event and ended up flying well with an unfamiliar plane.

Hugh finished 2nd, and other than a slow start losing points in the first 2 rounds, flew really well for the rest of the day.

Marcus finished 1st with a perfect 8000 point result. He had a good read on the conditions and made good decisions all day to take the win.

Thanks again to Tim for his timing and calling, and to Greg, Graham and Jamie for traveling so far.

Also, don't forget to follow the Aussie F3K team on Facebook (F3K Australia) and they leave for Croatia on the 15th July.

Enjoy the winter break everyone and we will see you again next season!

Cheers,

Marcus
