F5J Round 1 - Sep 14 at VARMS

Sunday 14th Sept was round 1 of the RCGA 2025-2026 F5J league.

Despite a perfect day before, the forecast was for wind and it didn't disappoint. Around 15 knots with gusts around 30 knots out of the North and North-West made for some challenging and bumpy conditions.

After some practice flights we made the decision to kick-off and flights were mixed. Some 9 minute plus flights but often 4 minutes and a landing was enough to win the round! We flew three rounds and then decided to abandon the day. Unfortunately, a model issue meant Marcus didn't record a score and Bruce wisely decided to sit out the conditions.

In the end we had 5 pilots record scores with the top 3 below. Daniel flew a perfect 3 rounds to finish with 3,000 points and a long way ahead.
