Milang and Open Thermal

header

 Hi all,

There have been 2 events recently.

The first was Milang and a good CGA contingent travelled to Milang to enjoy the SSL hospitality and come back with the trophies.

Congratulation to Alan Mayhew for winning the preliminaries and to Jim Houdalakis for winning the Fly-offs.

The second was our local League event and 10 pilots enjoyed a great days flying and we easily got through 8 rounds of flying.

David Hobby (who is back after a hiatis due to work) started strongly with 3 x 1,000 but Marcus improved as the day progresses and going into the last round David was 5 points ahead of Marcus. Ironicaly they were both up together in the last round and after they both got away in thermals it came down to the finishing to decide the winner. Marcus scored a 10:00 and 96 (997) to David 10:00 and 91 (990) so Marcus finished 1 point ahead of David! What a finish!!

Thermal #5

supra

 Hi all,

The day started rainy and overcast but quickly improved and we completed 7 rounds by 4PM! It was very windy all day with most people flying half to full ballast. There were still lots of thermals around, but everyone managed to make at least one mistake and missed the lift at different times throughout the day. It was an excellent days flying and everyone had a great time.

Congratulations to:

1st Alan Mayhey

2nd Marcus Stent

3rd Tom Dupuche

Thermal #3

The winner of Thermal #3, Al with his Perfection

Hi all,

Tough, rainy, windy but enjoyable was the best way to describe the 3rd Open Thermal event of the season. 8 pilots braved the forcast and in the end we easily achieved 6 rounds and had a lot of fun. There were lots of line breaks but no damage to planes.

Every pilot had at least one dropper in the difficult conditions and it was Alan Mayhew who had the 'best worst score' to come out on top. Well flown Al!

Congratulations to:

1st Alan Mayhew, Perfection     5822

 2nd Daniel Haskel, Perfection  5728

3rd Gerry Carter, Shooter          5718
